Self awareness, Self love, Self validation, Know your worth - Message for parents and adults in survival mode
A different post from my usual post.
Most of the Ranbir Kapoor movies have one thing in common - disputed relationship with father and disturbed childhood.
Wake up Sid - Spoilt, irresponsible, careless guy because he was put down most of the time by his father - he became a rebel
Yeh Jawani hai deewani - he was uncomfortable with love and care. Deep down he didn't want to feel emotions.
Tamasha - he couldn't follow his dream/passion only to receive acceptance and approval from his father resulting in living a mediocre life.
Rockstar & Ae dil hain Mushkil - addictive intimate relationships
And the latest one Animal - his father was his super hero. Right from childhood he sought love, time, attention from his father which he never received. His hunger for love and attention from his father was so intense that he made himself ruthless only because one day his father will give him love and attention which he was seeking right from childhood.
Parents do their best, they give the best and always have best intentions for their child but when the parents themselves are in survival mode they unknowingly do not understand the needs of their child. A child feels abandoned, neglected and unlovable. A child grows old with the notion that there is something wrong with them.
The child has the following needs:
1. Need for recognition and acknowledgement
2. Love, attention, respect
3. Appreciation
Ranbir Kapoor through his movies is conveying different mental patterns an adult reflects because of lack of self-awareness, self-love and self validation. Only when life gives a tight slap you are put in 2 choices
1. Do your inner work become wise and thrive
Or
2. Live in survival mode and ruin yourself
Option 1 is healing the inner child. It is bold and courageous to do the work. In the end it's worth it. It is a self realisation and discovery journey that
1. You are blessed and gifted
2. You are here for a purpose
3. Justify your birth - it will help you live every single day
A hero always chooses option 1 - "Apni kahani hain ending change kar denge" ❤️
