Do you recognize and acknowledge your efforts and actions in everything you do or you look for external validation?
People who lack self esteem often seek external validation. External validation means depending on others. It also means you are easily manipulated and manipulate others effortlessly, you give away your power to others, you play the victim, you blame others for your situation, keep venting, you compare yourself and feel disgusted.
This ruins your self confidence. Low self confidence may lead to people pleasing, anger, manipulation, short cuts, fast results.
Low self esteem also means you get carried away with diet & fitness fads, short cuts, body image crisis. You are an easy target for fitness products, quick result programs and challenges.
A person with high self esteem recognises and acknowledges small steps or big steps towards anything they do, appreciates it and is content with themselves. They gracefully accept who they are and keep improving & evolving. They live with their ikigai (iki - life, gai - worth i.e. life's worth) and live a balanced life.
You can always work on your self esteem and live a fulfilled life. It's okay to recognise and acknowledge that you have low self esteem. Recognising and acknowledging it is brave and working on it is courageous. Very few choose to work on it and if you are doing so - more power to you for the brave work.
You deserve a beautiful life 💝
