Reply from me: Walk or any kind of Cardio should not be considered now. Why?
The spine is our body's central support structure. When there is structural change in our spine it will cause discomfort in normal activities such as standing, walking, sitting, sleeping. These normal activities define the quality of our life. When there is change in the structure Spine requires conditioning exercises which helps in correcting the structure. Walking on the contrary does more damage. Stop walking and focus on correcting the posture. Once it is corrected you can slowly and gradually resume your cardio exercises.
It is a common advice to start walking when you are diagnosed with insulin resistance or diabetes. Currently your body is asking for strength training to maintain the insulin levels or blood glucose levels. Strength training will help in building muscle mass which will convert your blood glucose into energy. This process will make you feel more energetic as well as it will keep your blood glucose levels normal. Walking may reduce blood glucose in the first 4 weeks but then your body will not show any changes and you may have to continue with the medication+ walk for the rest of your life. While with strength training you may reverse your diabetes and live medication free for the rest of your life.
Make the right choices. Right choices will give you quality life 🧬
